The Legend of Maruja

Maruja is not my real name.

It is an alias given to me by my theater club seniors when I was in my freshman year.  All other guys (straight and otherwise) within my batch also got female names as part of our apprenticeship.

All of their aliases came and gone, but mine somehow got stuck.  I have been so identified with Maruja that people in my university thought it was my real name.

Needless to say, I have become quite a personality in college.  Different people knew me differently:  a friend, a confidante, a writer, a hopeless romantic, extra-curricular activity junkie, clown, slut, legend.

Now, I want to be known as one:  an Empress.
