Music Break: “Better” by Boyzone

3 01 2009

Per in ferlalou, happy si watashi kay Stephen especially nang wiz siya tsinugi sa boyband after coming out of the kloseta. At sa kanilang recently-released cover ng “Better,” aba’y isang brave move na naman ang ginawa ng banda (with matching kilig on my part).

Watchiley niyo na lang kung vahket.

Music Break: “Rubi” by Babasonicos

22 09 2008

Argentinian band Babasónicos may not be popular outside Latin America, but the music video of their 2001 song “Rubi” is slowly getting noticed around the world thanks to YouTube.

Girls, you may want to have vanilla ice cream (or a popsicle) while watching this.  You’ll see why.

Empress Maruja, nakiindak kay Ida Corr at 100 Ekra Tan

15 07 2008

Me Think About It (VJ Optique Extended Version)” nina Ida Corr vs Fedde Le Grand.

Tama ba akets o tama ba akets? CHARITY!

Music Break: “Eargasmic” by Mobbstarr

17 05 2008

More popularly known in mainstream music industry as “DiCE and k9,” Mobbstarr has been one of the most innovative Filipino hip-hops acts around. Although the group (now without k9) will be forever remembered in reviving the urban music genre with “Itsumo,” their latest single “Eargasmic” has been garnering buzz with its unusual mix of rap and electronic music. These kinds of unique tracks often grab the attention of Empress Maruja.

Music Break: “Uh Oh”, Taken by Cars

3 04 2008

I first heard of the song “Uh Oh” performed by the band Taken by Cars and I instantly fell in love with it.  At this day and age when the likes of Gretchen Barretto, Boy Abunda, Kim Chiu, and Marian Rivera make a travesty of the music industry by releasing their respective “gold” albums (that were probably bought by a few fans by the bulk, just like this one guy I know who’s head over heels over La Greta), new artists like Taken by Cars has assured me that there is still hope in Philippine music.

If you are into electronic rock and techno music, you’ll gonna love it… I guaradamntee it!
