Philippine Idol Updates: Jeli, Pow, Mau, a Concert, and an Award to Boot!

New batch of Philippine Idol Updates! (also known as “Yes! Philippine Idol finalists are going places!”)

Jeli Mateo appeared in ABS-CBN’s game show Wowowee as one of its co-hosts last Saturday.  Before Jeli’s fans jump out with glee and excitement, please do note that it is not yet confirmed whether Jeli would become a permanent part of the program, which is currently guesting different prospective co-hosts.

Here’s a short clip of her latest stint.

(NOTE:  To the owners of Jeli Mateo’s Official Fan Forum, I have difficulty activating my account.  I hope something has to be done to accommodate more members.  Thanks!)

Power Idol Pow Chavez (pictured here with her band The Joint) has been around the bar circuits after the competition.  She will be having her fan’s day celebration, which is also her post-birthday party, on Febraury 28 in Music Box, Timog Avenue, Quezon City.  Party starts at 8:00 p.m.  (Entrance fee is P150)

For inquiries, contact Philip Chavez Garduque at 0927-6296719.

You can also catch Pow on the following dates this March:

March 1 – The Library, Malate
March 8 – Klownz, Quezon Ave.
March 15 – Sitcom, Las Pinas
March 22 – Ratsky’s, Malate
March 29 – Zirkoh, Timog Ave.
March 31 – Club O, ABS – CBN Compound

(NOTE:  Is it true that Pow and Jeli are dating?)

Philippine Idol winner Mau Marcelo has appeared in various programs in ABS-CBN, with her single “On My Own” slowly crawling its way into the radio charts.  She is also slated to perform in Vietnam this March as part of promotion for the launch of its own Idol franchise together with first Indian Idol Abhijeet Sawant.

Here’s a clip of one of her appearance on the talk show Home Boy, where she shares her vocal preparation secrets.

After months of speculation, the 12 finalists of Philippine Idol will have a major concert in Araneta Colisuem on March 23.  Mark your calendars and join your fellow Idol fanatics in watching this amazing post-Idol event.

It is also interesting to note that Philippine Idol recently won “Best Reality TV Program” at this year’s USTv Awards, which it shares with Pinoy Dream Academy.  The awards are given by the 35,000-strong student body of the University of Santo Tomas.  Congratulations to Philippine Idol and to ABC-5!
