Our first Philippine Idol Mau Marcelo appears for the first time outside of ABC as one of the singers featured in ABS-CBN’s variety show ASAP together with fellow singing competition winners such as Sarah Geronimo (Star for a Night), Rachelle Ann Go (Search for a Star), Frenchie Dy (Star in a Million), and that amateur acoustic singer from Pinoy Dream Academy.
It’s very clear that our Philippine Idol lords over Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino. However, it would be better if Mau (as well as the other singers) choose their own songs instead of belting out their “winning numbers.” Another thing: What’s with Mau’s hair? Then again, who am I to complain?
i like mau better than yeng.. i dunno why.. lol.. it’s quite surprising that ABSCBN actually allowed that appearance.. I thought they were all “take care of our own” type..
anyway….. i guess that’s how the cookie crumbles now.. 🙂
i love mau’s classy performance, not TH to birit like the others.
@ chino – There’s no doubt Mau’s better than Yeng.
@ idolforever – I also find Frenchie’s rendition too cabaret. No wonder never siyang nagka-album.
ABS-CBN doesn’t really have much of an “own”; Star for a Night wasn’t their’s, as well as Search for a Star. Their actual “own” are just Star in a Million and Pinoy Dream Academy, which aren’t much at all.
Mau prevailed. Everyone’s very good. But Mau is Mau…………………….
very interesting, but I don’t agree with you
