Just found out over at Philippine Entertainment Portal that the 17th season of one of America’s leading reality shows “Survivor” is said to be filming in the Philippines!

According to reports, tourists and local vacationers were not allowed to visit Gota Beach in Agirangan Island, Camarines Sur, during the Holy Week. Even local celebrities and residents of the area were barred from the area. The reason was that the Celebrity Edition of Survivor was being taped there. According to sources, Hollywood stars Jean Claude van Damme and Alicia Silverstone were among the contestants.

However, this cannot be confirmed since its official website claims that shooting for Season 17 will be in June 2008 and casting is currently being held.

hello, philippine version kaya ng survivor ang gagawin sa pamagat na SURVIVOR PHILIPPINES at sa GMA7 ipapalabas, I have a strong feeling na ipantatapat ito sa season 3 ng Pinoy Big Brother
it’s true. survivor is shooting in one of the islands near gota beach. not sure if it’s in aguirangan island. one of the contestant actually has to bo be evacuated last april 16, 2008 dahil nakagat lang daw ng lamok. the island location can’t be accessed right now especially by tourists. last year pa plano na mag-shoot dito ang survivor and they picked bicol as the spot.
sana yung fantastic tv na lang ang ginawa nila kaysa sa survivor. but for sure mahihirapan silang mapapayag si arielle, hehehe. ^^
