MOFO: Maruja Open FO-rum

18 05 2007

I chatted with a popular blogger a few days back and he asked me if his site is mundane. Plain. Ordinary. I told him that it is not.

“How I wish I got the same number of comments as you have,” I typed.

I have to admit, views in my blogs have been decreasing recently (how I still manage to snag the top spot among Tagalog WordPress blogs is still a mystery to me). The site has not been visited by my long-time readers, the comments are trickling, and some links to my blog were removed (so I deleted my link to theirs). I thought something is wrong with me my blog.

In the blogosphere where “comments+links=love”, I suddenly felt that my blog became a mere “stumbled upon” site. Someone in Sudan searched for photos of “hot men” and was stumbled upon into here. All I wanted was to create a wonderful blog with ACTUAL readers.

So I decided on the following:

1) I promise that I will only comment on the sites that are included in my blogroll with the exception of the following: Bryanboy, Pinoy Rickey, and blogs that participate in the Queer Chef’s Comment Whore.

2) I promise that I will shut up about my pro-democracy point-of-view and anything about politics, religion, and sex. Oh wait…I think I have to reconsider the sex part.

3) I removed the link to the G*Spot Blog of the Month. Nobody votes for me anyway (and besides, I don’t agree with a poll where you can vote as many as you want).

4) And I promise not to react on any comment that I may find to disagree, even if they appear to be trolling or flaming.

Meanwhile, I would like to ask my readers (if there are any) of the following:

1) Should I keep my blog bilingual or should I start writing ONLY in English from now on?

2) What do you think should I post MORE about?

3) What do you think should I post LESS about?

4) What features do you want to see in my site?

Please leave a comment. Please.

(Ipagpasensya niyo muna si Maruja. May regla siya kasi ngayon.)

Sigh. A lot of people just care about sex, dear. Looking for cheap thrills. Huwag ka mawalan ng loob, write whatever you want, hindi ka maging kasing entertaining kung mafoforce ka lang :D labshu.

I’ve been blogging since 2004. There were many changes in my blog. Many readers have come and go and the group, which I often blogged before is already gone. You know what makes me endure time?

I blogged about what I see around me. I blog about my existence. It doesn’t matter if there are people reading me. So long as I remain true and honest to myself, then I’d go on writing. I’ve always seen my blog as my extension. Wala man akong masumbungan o makwentuhan, at least, there’s a Pulsar I could always rely to make me feel better.

Just blog whatever you have in mind. Honestly, I really like it when you blog about your adventures with Svelte and your other friends. I like it when you gayspeak, because it reveals the real you. At least I get to know more about you. Noon kasi, kilala lang kita kasi sikat ka sa AB. Ngayon at least, I get to have an idea about your life.

Just write and write. You’re one of my regular readings. :)

My blog is my tool to remember the things I like.

Now to answer your questions.

(1) I think a bilingual blog is better than just write in english.

(2) Up to you dear, you are very creative, just post what you feel you want to share with your fans (like me). I really like the game bunny hunt. It is very creative and interactive. Hehehe.

(3) Less politics! Unless it’s an LGBT issue. I don’t read articles re: politics, unless it’s creatively funny.

(4) hmmmm. Anything gay will be very much appreciated.

I think you’re doing guh-reat, Your Highness. It’s just that you post a lot more frequently, so frequent that I (and possibly most of your fans) can’t keep up. I guess the solution here is to post just once a day or something? Just sayin’.
