The midterm election are fast approaching and a lot of voters do not feel excited to place their votes. They have become cynical and apathetic of our country, just wanting to live the life while letting corrupt officials amass millions to their pockets simply because they think nothing can be done to stop it.
But there is a way to voice out your frustrations to the government and those aspiring trapos. Let the Empress guide you with suggestions as to who to vote this coming elections.
* DO NOT VOTE FOR CANDIDATES WITH LOADS OF TV ADS. Since putting an ad campaign on TV costs millions of pesos, aren’t you scared how he or she would get the money back?
* CHECK THE LAWS THEY HAVE MADE OR CAUSES THEY SUPPORT. You can search online or through news what candidates plan in case they are in power. Recommended site: Pinoy Vote.
* DO NOT VOTE FOR PARTY LISTS THAT ARE CONNECTED TO CPP-NPA-NDF. You know who these are: they would boycott every State of the Nation Address, rally to the streets for the ouster of EVERY president we had since Marcos, critical of every positive actions being planned by the government, but mum about the illegal extortions of the Communists in the countryside and their use of child soldiers. I believe that people who believe in an UNDEMOCRATIC ideology should not participate in a DEMOCRATIC exercise.
* DO NOT VOTE FOR “THE LESSER EVIL”. Let’s admit it, some of you thought about that while voting for Gloria Arroyo back in 2004. (Good thing I voted for Villanueva, lol!)
* EDUCATION BACKGROUND IS NOTHING. We tend to look down on celebrities who are running in the Elections just because most of them did not finished college. However, we tried to vote according to education background yet our country is still riddled with corruption. For me, what matters most is LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL. This tip reminds me of the late Larry Silva, a former stuntman who became a household name with his “Pipoy” role in the sitcom “Okey Ka Fairy Ko”. He ran for councilor in Manila despite lack of education and became one of the top performing public servants in the city.
* THE RUMORS ARE PROBABLY TRUE. If a candidate is associated with illegal gambling or drug trafficking, then consider not voting for them. Like they say, when there’s smoke, there’s fire.
Finally…
* VOTE FOR KAPATIRAN IN SENATE. Three “unknown men” (a doctor and two lawyers) with a commitment for common good need your supprt. If you are planning to put a blank on your Senate votes (like I planned), don’t. You are merely putting an opportunity for the candidates you don’t like to advance into the 12 contested slots. So instead of wasting your vote, consider other candidates whom you may find worth voting.

This is a very good coverage or guidelines in voting! Bravo!
Nice advice, especially no. 3. I remember a friend back in college, who once joined a left leaning group. He was told that whatever the other side say, don’t accept it without giving any alternative except for the revolutionary takeover.
On this note, I think the opposition also has to gather its acts together and come up with a strong alternative if they would really want to be regarded as a genuine (quality) opposition.
Yucks! Don’t Vote Admin and Oppo Senatoriables!
If you are poor, and you are happy with the way you must live, then you can vote for Arroyo. You’ll have the same thing, because she is not going to make any changes, that would be too much trouble for her. These are some of the things you will never get….Health care. I call it Government NO CARE…just let the poor children continue to die from illness . The streets that badly need paving (I wonder how many people have broken thier ankles, just take a look at the streets in Baclaran). Your not ever going to have Police Officers that can really read or write properly, or even know the law. (Just give them a gun, and send them out into the streets). I can go on and on. Now what would be the proper thing to do?..When you vote, politely ask Gloria to step down. And for once and for all revamp the Government…Unless of coarse, you are happy with the way things are.
